What's On

Paint the Day

Get creative and see your artwork exhibited as part of this year’s Bewdley Festival!

Bewdley Festival has teamed up with award winning local artist Sarah Stokes to launch a brand-new competition.

Grab your chance to have your artwork hanging in the Bewdley Museum during Bewdley Festival and win one of a number of prizes! Whether you are a budding, hobbyist or established artist on Saturday 26th October you will have the chance to take part in “Paint the Day,” Wyre Forest.

So, whether it’s the beautiful Wyre Forest scenery, the stunning wildlife, the historic architecture or the sight of people going about their daily business that inspires you to create, please come along and take part! This event is open to adults and children alike.

You can pre-register by clicking on this link Register for Paint The Day, but, if you prefer, you just need to make your way to St. George’s Hall, Load Street, Bewdley between 8:30 to 9:30am on the day, and complete your registration form with a member of the Bewdley Festival team.

The cost of registration will be £10.00 per adult and free for under 16’s. We are happy that your work can be put up for sale at the exhibition, but we will need you to price the work and there will be a 25% sale commission deducted by Bewdley Festival.

All media will be accepted, from watercolour to oil, from collage to digital, from photographic to mixed media, from acrylic to graphite.

All artworks will need to be framed and returned to St. George’s Hall by 4:00pm on the same day ready for us to hang on Sunday 27th October at Bewdley Museum for the exhibition that will be held from Monday 28th until Saturday 2nd November. Shop bought frames are fine!

Even if you don’t want to create, please pop along to the museum during the week-long show and vote for your favourite artwork!

On Saturday 2nd November there will be a prize giving and award ceremony at 3:00pm for the best in show. There will be a popular vote and a RBSA judged vote. Prizes include £50 for the top-voted work and painting sets kindly donated by Winsor and Newton.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 26th October – and good luck!
