Matthew Vaughan presents Forest Tales of the Olden World, a storytelling show for ages 9+ (please be aware that some scenes may be scary for younger or more sensitive children)
In a far future, a young girl reflects on her grandmother’s stories. Stories of an ancient, forgotten world. Our world.
Minx lived with her mother and her small dog Toki in a house built high in a giant redwood tree. That tree was not one tree alone, standing in splendid isolation, but just one in a forest of similar giant trees. Nor was Minx’s house one house alone, only one in a treetop city built a hundred meters above the ground in living skyscrapers.
Minx’s mother was a doctor, so it was not unusual that they would be disturbed in the middle of the night or the early hours of the morning. On this night though, just days after Minx’s twelfth birthday, a ferocious storm had blown up. The fiercest storm Minx could remember. And on this night, they would be roused in the pre-dawn darkness to journey along the treetop highway to an emergency as yet unknown.
