Hopfest has been held at the Hopley’s Family Camp Site in Bewdley every year since 2011. 2020 was an exception as the restrictions around Covid 19 lead to the cancellation of the 10th anniversary festival.
Since its inception the festival has maintained a family-friendly ethos and has showcased musicians and artists from the West Midlands, particularly from Wyre Forest and Worcestershire.
A youth section has been an important part of the festival from the offset and a number of young musicians have started playing on the young musician stages and have progressed to appearing on the main stage.
The youth artists and activities at Hopfest are organised and funded by Bewdley Youth Festival and include stages for young musicians, workshops prior to the festival, art workshops and activities on the day, circus skills and many more.
Youth Festival has also organised the painting of stage backdrops by students at Bewdley School and Sixth Form, and you can see examples of their work through the Hopfest Gallery link which will also give you a flavour of BYF at this popular festival across the years.
