Bewdley Festival has been held in October every year since 1988 and whilst the organisation and structure of the Festival has evolved since the early days the core principle remains:
“To Bring the best into Bewdley and the best out of Bewdley”.
The Festival has always been volunteer-run with an organising committee drawn from Society members. Between 1987 and 2018 there have been 7 Festival Directors responsible for putting together the annual programme.
Chris Jaeger, of Huntingdon Hall, Worcester, acted as Artistic Director for many years from 1992, working with the Festival Directors in programming the annual festival.
Since 2018 the festival has been curated by a programming sub-committee of the Festival Society Committtee, led by the Festival Society Chair.
